Downloadable Ford Mustang Owners Manual - II

The 1998 Ford Mustang owner's manual has for the second file download is entitled "Introduction" but the first page actually has "Contents" for the title.  Compared to the first file on the downloaded manual, the second file is more specific for the 1998 Ford Mustang model.  The first file entitled "General Information" could be said as ‘applicable' for a certain range model of Ford Mustangs.

The introduction part of the owner's manual/automotive repair manuals has a special notice that reads as follows: "SPECIAL NOTICES: Notice to owners of Cobra vehicles. Before you drive your vehicle, be sure to read the "SVT Cobra Owner's Guide Supplement." This book contains important operation and maintenance information."  SVT stands for Ford's Special Vehicle Team that designs and styles Mustangs for high performance and in limited production only.

Moving on to the introduction file, the first 62 pages has the Content page, introduction, instrumentation, controls and features.  The details of this portion cover all models from the basic, standard up to convertibles, for both automatic and manual transmission.  For those who are second-owners, this part of the manual/haynes repair manuals can tell exactly what model you own.  The following 20 pages after the control and features section is about seating and restraints.  It is important to follow the instructions here because doing it improperly could cause injury or harm to passengers.

From page 83 to 107 are instructions on how to start and drive the vehicle.  There are some operations in the Mustang that might not be the same with other Fords or other vehicle brands.  A good number of drivers presume that all cars can be operated in the same way.  Different car makes and models would, in some way or another, have their own precaution, safety or security system that needs to be followed.

The next sections of the manual will be about road emergencies (pp. 108-125), maintenance and care (pp. 126 -176), capacities and specifications (pp. 177-184). These sections are regular contents that are found in all car owners' manuals but specific to each model and brand. There are features and functions that might be applicable only for one model.

Reporting safety defects, index page and filling station information are the last three sections of the manual. The index page is important because it can point you immediately to the page that you would want to read or refer to.  The downloaded second file has a total of 192 pages plus 44 pages of the first file, General Information.
