Luckily, in the United States - although unemployment is high in some sectors, it is clicking along in the service sector. This is good news for all those small business people that run companies which do services. One of the best sectors of our economy for service has been the automotive service industry - everything from maintenance on cars, all the way down to your local mobile car wash guy that comes by your office each week.
If you happen to run a mobile car wash business you need to figure out a way to dry the cars off, or make sure that they drive themselves spot free. No customer wants water spots on their car, whether it be at their office building, or even a large company like a car dealership with hundreds of cars. It's up to you as a mobile car wash operator to present quality work. It is for this reason that not long ago an entrepreneur in this mobile car washing sector asked me the following question;
Can you count on the towel drying to handle the spots with high calcium water?
No, not always, and you must remember that if you have water with calcium, magnesium, or generally just hard water, what you'll find is it makes sense to at least use soft water, which is very inexpensive to create. Soft water tanks last for a very long time and don't cost very much to rent. They also make industrial units, and home units were you putting your own carbon are salt. You can buy them straight from the Sears Catalog, or go into Home Depot and see the various brands.
If you don't use soft water, and you have such hard water, even completely drying, won't be enough, as you will notice that the windshield wiper blades will have water spots on them too, and if you're going very fast you're going to miss things like mirrors, right rear hub caps, and underneath bumpers where there are extra body parts.
Because when you're going fast sometimes your mind misses them, and if you're on a car lot going very, very fast, you get tired (from bending over) and you miss more as you go. In fact if you are washing cars in a parking lot I always told our franchisees to go around the car back words with the towel in your opposite hand when checking your work. It's amazing all the little spots that you will have missed, and not even noticed, you would've assumed you did a perfect job but you didn't. Never assume, always check your work twice. Please consider all this.
